The Edgcumbe Youth Hockey Association relies on its volunteers to accomplish the many things that need to be done in order to make hockey happen in a family friendly way. Your help is appreciated and essential to the continued success of Edgcumbe Hockey. Please review the postions below to see how your talents can best be utilized;
Annual Awards Banquet Coordinator
Coordinate the annual awards banquet, including location reservation, awards, and food.
Flooders
[volunteer]
Weekly evening rotation starting in December to shovel, scrape, and/or flood the rinks at the Recreation Centers (Palace/Edgcumbe). No prior experience required.
Jersey/Equipment Coordinator
[volunteer]
Pass out jerseys to each team and have them returned back to you in the spring. Organize equipment exchange.
Registration
[volunteer]
Assist in coordinating the registration of hockey players for the upcoming season.
Coordinate photographer & ice time. Communicate with all teams - time and place. Distribute pictures to teams once received back from photographer.
Team Manager
[volunteer]
Help organize coaches, when needed. Arrange referees for games/scrimmages. Schedule parents for clock and penalty box duties.
SQUIRT TOURNAMENT VOLUNTEER POSITIONS
Concession Chief/Scheduler

Assemble a staff of concession workers. Schedule workers for the concession stand. Develop a plan for people bringing in food items (chili, pop, bars, etc.). Purchase necessary items for the concession stand. Set up concession stand daily (make coffee, etc.). Take care of money (keep daily counts, pay for items, etc.).
Concession Workers

Sell food and beverage items (no calculus classes required). Replenish coffee And food items as needed. Notify Concession Chief of supply shortages as needed.
Food Volunteers

Cook Chili. Bake cakes, cookies, or bars to be sold at the concession stand.
Scrapers
[volunteer]
Scrape rink between games and as needed (skates required)
EMT/Nurse/Doctor/First Aid Responder
[volunteer]
Registered nurse, doctor, emergency medical technician, or certified first aid responder) - be on site for games and attend to injuries as needed.
Public Address Announcer
[volunteer]
Be the voice of Edgcumbe hockey for a couple games in a day or the entire day or the entire tournament. Announce starting line-ups, penalties, and goals.
Meet and Greet Coordinator
[volunteer]
Plan and order give away items for each team member participating in the tournament. Assemble information packet for each team. Greet team at their first game to distribute packets and relevant information.
Program Manager
[volunteer]
Develop official tournament program to be distributed to all participants and fans at the tournament.
Miscellaneous
[volunteer]
Odd jobs - ordering of trophies, ribbons, medals, or other awards. Put together necessary signs. Commandeer and assemble public address system, including CD player.
